$20 Medical Cannabis Card Online in Ewa Gentry

Ewa Gentry residents may see advertisements suggesting that an online medical cannabis card or evaluation can be obtained for around $20. That advertised amount does not represent the complete official cost of becoming a registered Hawaiʻi medical cannabis patient.

The state registration charge for a new one-year 329 card is $38.50 before any medical-provider certification fee is considered. A patient must also receive appropriate medical certification from an eligible Hawaiʻi physician or APRN.

Telehealth can make the provider consultation more convenient for qualifying applicants. Hawaiʻi permits an initial applicant to establish the required bona fide provider-patient relationship through an in-person or telehealth appointment. However, the patient still needs an actual medical evaluation and provider certification rather than simply completing a web form.

After completing the patient portion of the application, the applicant sends it to the certifying medical provider. The physician or APRN certifies the medical condition and submits the completed application to DOH for review.

Medical cannabis certification fees are also regulated by Hawaiʻi. The total charged specifically for the evaluation and issuance of a one-year certification cannot exceed $105.

For an Ewa Gentry patient, a $20 online promotion should therefore be viewed as a possible discounted component or promotional service rather than the complete cost of obtaining a valid Hawaiʻi 329 card.
